A table and bench seats made from pallets ( The legs were brought wood tho, Just so they would be steady) The table top, Icebox etc is all made from recycled pallets.
Saw a cool table online. Figured I wanted one. Made this last summer so I didn't get much photos during the building of the table, But you get the idea of it.
The middle box holds ice for the hot days, also found out after building it does pretty well with candles in it for the cold nights, Or if your trying to be romantic and get lucky ;-)
Each end of the box has a drain with a bung, so once the Ice melts just put the bung to drain away the water.
Also made a cover for the ice box so it can be used as a full table.
Used 1.2m pallets for this put together and then sealed with a tube or two of silicone to hold the melted water in.
I have actually finished two bench seats (as shown unfinished in the photos) stained the same colour and varnished to complete the set. Also made from pallets (again not the legs tho)
Pretty happy with how this came out considering With woodwork i'm not great at it LOL, but hey if it works right?
Before using a Stain and varnish,
Made a frame with the brought legs and a couple full pallet pieces, then Pretty much just chopped up a whole heap of pallets for the table top.
After staining and a layer of Varnish.
I had a look that I wanted to achieve and overall got to what I wanted with some wood stain and varnishing.
Rustic look for the icebox
Using the Ice Box
Fill it with Ice and we were off, works absolute treat.
Any type of drinks will do :-)
Or use with candles
Photos of the Half finished seating
Then enjoy a beer to finish
I think overall it probably cost me about $50 maybe, Rough guess as I wasn't counting, Below is what I would estimate
- Wood / Legs @ $3 each / @ $12
- Tin of Stain @ $10
- Tin of Varnish @ $12
- Nails / Screws @ $18
- Silicone Tubes @ $4
- Bungs for ice box (chair feet) @ $1 for two
- Pallet Wood, Free from down the road
- Sandpaper - I already have heaps around the shed
That is my DIY Pallet table with a built in Ice Box.
